Xandros Basic Support (Free Installation Support)
Xandros provides Basic Support via e-mail for registered users of the Xandros operating system products. Registered users may contact Xandros Technical Support using this Support Request Form.
Users who have purchased an annual support agreement or a per incident support agreement and users who wish to purchase support services may contact Xandros Technical Support by the Support Request Form. Be sure to provide your support contract number when initiating a support request.
Xandros Management Console for Red Hat
Xandros supports the Xandros Management Console for Red Hat application, and the plugins provided with the installation package. We do not support the underlying OS or third party plugins that work with Xandros Management Console for Red Hat.
What should I include in my message?
Please include the following information:
- Your full name
- Your current e-mail address
- Your Xandros product serial number
- The name and version of the Xandros product you are looking for assistance with
- Did you purchase the full kit, or the ISO Download ?
- Your mailing address (optional)
- A clear and concise description of the issue that you are having
- Copy and paste any error messages that you may be receiving into the body of your e-mail and indicate what caused the messages to be shown
- For Xandros Products Version 3.0 and earlier: If you are have an issue with a certain piece of hardware, please copy and paste the contents of the /root/detect.txt and /etc/devices/persistentdata.bin files into your e-mail or attach the files to the message
- For Xandros Desktop Home, or Xandros Server please follow the directions below.
- Launch the Control Center by clicking Control Centre from the Control Centre menu on the Launch menu.
- Next expand the Hardware Information branch and select Hardware Detection of the Left Hand Tree.
- Click the Tech Support button on the bottom of the right hand pane.
- Click OK to create the file
- Attach the file xandros-config-report-x.tar.bz2 that was created on your desktop to the E-mail message.
How do I know which version of the Xandros operating system I have?
To determine which version of the Xandros operating system you have, do the following:
- Click Launch | Control Centre.
- Click Help | About Xandros Desktop OS.
- On the top of this page you will see the version information of your Xandros Desktop OS installation.
For example: Xandros Desktop OS 4.1 Professional (build 2006-11-06 17:40)
CodeWeavers CrossOver Linux Support
In version 3.x and 4.x of the Xandros Desktop OS support for CodeWeavers CrossOver Linux is provided by CodeWeavers.
* Note : You must register your copy of CrossOver Linux with CodeWeavers support.
When prompted, enter your name, email address and Xandros Desktop OS serial number to create a support account with CodeWeavers.
